It’s a narrative that goes beyond what you see - Art should make you think
Kathia is a 34-year-old Canadian artist who was raised in an environment where cultural, artistic, and musical conversations were paramount. With an enduring fascination for the social sciences and arts, she pursued a Master's degree in Political Science. After spending many years studying and exploring the world (Europe, South-East Asia…) she met Karim Guelmi, with whom she founded Anthology. Kathia’s understanding of the human experience and great sensitivity enabled her to create with Karim interiors that are distinguished by their warmth and harmony. Meanwhile, Kathia began to delve into abstract painting, which allowed her to express her understanding of human emotions and experiences. She was influenced by a range of philosophers and writers, including Hannah Arendt, Walter Benjamin, Edward Said, Adorno, and Foucault, and sought to integrate their ideas and perspectives into her art. These pieces soon captured the interest of many clients and Kathia began to incorporate them into the spaces she created with Karim. She allows herself to explore abstract art without limits, guided by her thoughts and not seeking to conform to a particular style. In her view, art is an expression of the daily evolution she experiences, and like her, her works continue to evolve over time.
Kathia is dedicated to creating thought-provoking and emotionally evocative abstract art that encourages viewers to reflect on their own experiences and perspective
